Anson Carter Coloring Contest

Announcing the first interactive posting on my blog site. While composing the previous articles on Anson Carter and the Team Canada victory I stumbled across an official page from an Edmonton Oilers Coloring Book, featuring Anson Carter from several years back.

To enter the contest, follow the instructions below to download the black & white Bitmap (.bmp) coloring file. Simply load it up into Windows Paint, or your favorite paint program, and color the page however you like. Once done send me the finished piece via email, and your piece may be included in the gallery of winners that I intend to post next week.

Let the games begin!

Instructions:

1. Click on the coloring page below to link to the official contest graphic. Please be patient, it may take a minute to load on slower connections. Once the picture has loaded, right click on the picture, click "Save Picture As...", and then save to your "My Documents" folder. Click 'Back' on your browser to return here.

What the!?!? Y'all know I'm 'sposed to be colored!

2. Load up the Windows Paint, or Paintbrush, program. To do this click on the Start Menu, and follow through Programs to Accessories. You should find the Paint shortcut icon here. For advanced users, feel free to use any other paint program you prefer (i.e. Photo-Paint, Photoshop, etc.).

3. Use Paint's simple interface (i.e. the Fill tool and Color Palette) to color your contest entry. Use the examples below for color reference if you like. Once finished, save the colored piece in your My Documents folder.

4. Click the Submit Entry link below. This will open a compose e-mail window in your default client, such as Outlook Express. Click on Attach File... Select the finished entry piece from your My Documents folder. Now the file is attached. Type in your name, age, email, URL, and any other relevant information about yourself or your entry into the body of the email. Click Send. Your entry has now been submitted.

5. Revel in the satisfaction of a job well done.

Smile.

Allow the nostalgia of childhood to wash over you.

Smile, and shed a tear.
